Diercks notches top-10 finish in Modified at Dubuque
Spencer Diercks made a mid-week appearance at Mason City Motor Speedway (Mason City, Iowa) on Tuesday afternoon to get an early start to his Fourth of July weekend with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series.
Unable to pinpoint the lingering issue that has hampered many of his starts in the 2023 season, Diercks took part in time trials but scratched from the remainder of the program.
Breaking out his Modified on Friday, Spencer visited Lafayette County Speedway (Darlington, Wis.) where he raced into the A-Main with a third-place finish in his heat. Fading outside the top-10 in the feature, Diercks lost four spots to finish 11th.
On Sunday, Diercks traveled to Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway (Dubuque, Iowa) to pull double duty in the IMCA Late Model and Modified ranks. Moving forward in both heats, Diercks finished third in his Modified heat while displaying an impressive charge in his Late Model heat with a seventh-to-first run. He gained one spot in the No. 57 Late Model to finish 11th in the feature while crossing the line in 10th in his Roehlk Concrete Contractors No. 29 Modified.
